Commemorating the movement that helped end slavery!
This collectible card includes 4 coins - two of each token showing both the Obverse and Reverse designs.
These tokens were sold at fairs throughout the country to help generate funding for the cause. The 1838 token has the words "Am I Not a Woman and a Sister" on the obverse and the reverse bears the legend "United States Of America - Liberty - 1838".
This collectible card contains 2 of each coin showing both the Obverse and the Reverse. Josiah Wedgwood's image of a kneeling slave appeared over and over again and was used in countless ways including on these English and American tokens.
All coins are double-sided and made of lead-free pewter and marked "COPY" on the reverse to conform with the Hobby Act. Comes attached to a 5" x 7" informational card. Coins can be easily removed from card if putting in a different display.
